Marriott International takes a bigger chunk of Asia Pacific

By 2020, Marriott International has plans to expand with a multitude of hotels in Asia Pacific, this is not only good news for travellers on the move but also an amazing opportunity for up to 50,000 job hunters.

This ambitious expansion plan will include a footprint growth of 40%, which will see the company acquire 1000 new hotels in 2020 throughout its 30 brands. By the end of 2019, the target is to have 100 of the new hotels built and ready for business. A number of the hotels big brands will be establishing their presence in Hong Kong, Nepal, Australia, India and the Philippines, adding to their ever-expanding portfolio which already includes more than 710 properties in 23 countries and districts.

Craig S Smith, Marriott’s President and Managing Director said The breadth and depth of Marriott International's footprint means that we are able to offer travellers opportunities to experience more destinations, brands and experiences, especially through Marriott Bonvoy, our industry-leading travel programme".

Picked out as the main growth drivers for the hotel chain are Southeast Asia, China and India. The travel trends and the fact that these countries have the biggest populations and travellers are all key factors that will contribute to the success of this development.

With the global chain having set themselves the target of opening 30 hotels in China this year alone and another 70 in the region, we look forward to seeing Marriott International flourish into an even more established and internationally recognised brand.
