IHG and Best Western expand their horizons

They are already two of the world’s largest and leading hotel groups and now they’re set to get even bigger and better. High-end acquisitions will see them both rapidly increase their product portfolio across the globe!

IHG has confirmed they will be spending $300 million to obtain all the assets from Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, placing the 16 gorgeous hotel and resorts they have at the top of their luxury portfolio. With the current 16 hotels situated in exotic locations around the world, another 18 hotel management contracts in process, and another 50 agreements “under active discussion”, this strategic move is without a doubt going to rejuvenate the company in many positive ways!

Best Western, already taking on the world with over 4,200 hotels in 100 countries, is now looking to expand further into luxurious market segments. This will be done through acquiring ‘World Hotels’, a marketing company that deals with 350 independent properties around the globe. Although World Hotels will keep its current identity and CEO, the brand will massively benefit from Best Western’s distribution network, sales and marketing proficiency, technological features and their loyalty programme. With both groups already having such an impactful global presence, coming together will make Best Western unstoppable as they continue to climb up the ladder of luxury.

We look forward to seeing these two already large and successful hotel groups grow and prosper even further - exciting times ahead for them both!
